My First "Real" Embroidery Design

I recently finished up my first embroidery design. I'm still working on tightening up the outlines, but most of the work is done. Next week I'll actually stitch it out. That'll be the "real" moment of truth.

PS This is so pretty! I can't wait till I get to stitch it out!

Jacobean Flower and Bird

The flower was much easier than the bird! This was my last design of the tutorial series that I've been going through. Do you think I'm ready to start designing my own embroideries? I hope I'm ready because I'm going to start next week. This is what I've been training for! LOL

Jacobean Flower

This design definitely took me to the next level. There are various stitches and fills and the only jump stitches are color changes! This was a lot of fun.

My First Attempt At Jacobean

Jacobean is one of my all time favorite designs for embroidery. I love the different textures and the colorful motifs. This leaf is my first attempt at Jacobean design - and it was easier than I thought it would be! There are three color changes in this leaf for extra depth.

This evening I picked up several books about the Elizabethan era that had a few ideas for pattern decoration. This is just the beginning... ;-D

My Very Own First Redwork Design

I just created my very first Redwork design using Embird Studio. The design was based off of fabric from the Elizabethan and Jacobean England era. There's only one jumpstitch too! This is fun.

My First Redwork Embroidery

I just finished my first redwork design in Embird Studio. This was actually one of the quickest - and easiest - tutorials that I've completed to date. I'm super excited about it though, because one of the main types of designs that I've wanted to create was redwork quilting used to stitch through all of the quilt layers. Yeah! I'm going to begin my first custom design next.

Umbrella Digitized with Embird

Last night I created my first embroidery piece using Embird.

This design is from one of Carolyn Keber's tutorials for Studio that I followed. Cute hugh? It's very simple, but the part I thought was cool was the the top of the handle was made from the border stitch - I would not have guessed that to begin with.

PS Why "Stitch All Night"? Because I'm such a night owl and if I've been known to stay up stitching all night definitely more than once. Hey, but I know I'm not alone...you know who you are ;-)
